Where is Aquapackers in the Abel Tasman?
Your floating backpackers accommodation is in the beautiful calm Anchorage Bay - named as it provides safe anchoring. Your comfort is guaranteed no matter what the weather.
Marahau, the gateway to New Zealand's Abel Tasman National Park, is a leisurely and scenic hours drive from Nelson airport.
There are many ways to reach Anchorage Bay - walk, sail, kayak or take a water taxi.
The Bay
is approximately a 3 1/2 hour walk from Marahua
(the entrance to the Abel Tasman National Park) along one of New Zealand's Great Walks - the Abel Tasman Coastal Track.
 It's a 20 minute water taxi ride from Kaiteriteri or Marahau. Watch out for blue penguins and New Zealand fur seals along the way.
Or if you're into freedom kayaking, we're an easy days paddle, enjoy your paddling then come aboard for a delicious barbeque dinner and a good nights sleep. Why not get a package deal with one of the kayak companies?

If coming from Awaroa on the park's western side, Anchorage and Aquapackers is approximately a 5 hour walk or a 35 minute water taxi ride.
So make Aquapackers your accommodation base and explore
the north and the south ends of the park.
